When you set up the router it is configured with default factory settings including the password. The password is also provided by the company according to the model you’re using. The Netgear router default password is password i.e. the word password itself. It is kept simple and easy to remember for the purpose of trouble free access. Steps to change the password of Netgear router:

 Open a web browser in your computer or connected device.
 Now, type www.routerlogin.net in the search bar. This will direct you to the log in page.
 Enter through the default credentials, which are as follows: username- admin and password- password.
 Under the settings, go to advanced.
 Select administration and click on set password.
 Then, enter the new password. You will be asked to confirm it again.
 Here, you can also chose the password recovery option for future use.
 Click on apply and save the changes.

Now, you can log in through the new password and configure other settings. While making the changes if you find, Netgear default password not working. The most common cause for that is you may have mistyped the password. Double check for any spelling errors. The password is also case sensitive. If everything is right, press the reset button to reboot the router and log in page. Enter the credentials once again and log in.
