Dye Sublimation Transfer Paper Manufacturers

How does China printing paper roll jumbo work?
There are many things you can't see behind the scenes. Sublimation is a chemical process that embeds dyes on the surface of polymers. Although this sounds a bit limited, substrate manufacturers have come up with many ways to embed polymers on the surface of their products. Wood, ceramics, glass, and metals are just a few examples of materials that can be sublimated by adding polymer coatings. This has allowed the market for sublimation products to grow rapidly in the past few years.

The science behind sublimation
The scientific definition of sublimation is the process of transforming a substance from a solid to a gas, and the substance will never become a liquid. Considering that the sublimation ink is liquid, this may sound strange. However, sublimation inks are not real inks. They are highly viscous mixtures of solid dye particles in the carrier liquid. When heat and pressure are applied to the dye solid embedded in the transfer medium during the printing process, a sublimation process occurs.

The combination of heat and pressure opens the polymer molecules and turns the dye solid into a gas. The dye gas enters the open polymer and closes again after cooling. The gas also turns back into a solid dye and is encapsulated in the cooled surface. With this process, you are basically dyeing the surface of the substrate, or in the case of textiles, dyeing the fibers of the cloth. This ensures that you have high-resolution prints that will not fade, chip, or wash out.
