One of the foundational materials of any craft skill at New World is cloth, made up of fibers collected from hemp plants found throughout Aeternum.

Hemp can be harvested at any harvest level and can be found primarily in grassland areas, but it also appears in forests. However, there is a step between collecting and crafting various pieces of armor, tools, and weapons, and that is called Weaving.

Here's a simple guide to weaving in the New World.

Knitting Basics in the New World
Weaving is the refinement of fibers in various forms of cloth. From the beginning of the game, you can make flax from hemp fibers, at the rate of four fibers per piece of flax. After collecting hemp fibers, take them to the loom at any settlement and refine them into flax. Once you reach weave level 50, you can make the next tallest fabric, satin. This costs four pieces of linen and one twill weave, which is a cloth-weave refinement material obtained from supply containers at iconic locations.

Here are all the different pieces of fabric you can knit in New World, including the knitting level requirement and materials needed.

Linen - Level 0: 4 fibers
Satin - Level 50: 4 linen and 1 cloth weave
Silk - Level 100: 6 silk threads, 2 satin and 1 cloth weave
Infused Silk - Level 150: 8 Wire Fiber, 2 Silk, and 1 Cloth Weave
Phoenixweave - Level 200: 5 Imbued Silk, 1 Scale Cloth, 1 Blister Weave, 1 Wireweave
Players will be able to collect higher levels of cloth weaves later on, such as Silkweave and Wireweave.

If your goal is to level up Weaving as quickly as possible without increasing other trading skills, try crafting your linen exclusively from satin.

Tips and tricks
Use New World resource tracking websites to quickly find hemp hotspots, such as the Primrose grassland area around Fisherman's Bend and the Hermit Sanctuary in Windsward.

The only reason to stick with Fiber is to use it in city board missions that give you a work order that requires raw materials. However, if you don't mind those, turn fibers into flax right away. Make sure to keep all collected refining materials in your storage shed.

From a business skills perspective, you need to focus your territory upgrades on resource gathering speed, storage space, and lowering manufacturing costs. However, storage space can be one of the most beneficial upgrades across the board in the long run. It is also recommended to buy new world coins when playing.
