Several operation methods of CNC thread cutting

In the process of processing, different thread requirements, the methods are not the same, trapezoidal thread length is long, pitch, cutting depth, cutting force, high precision requirements, processing difficulty, in the processing of ordinary thread, if the cutting depth of each tool is the same, then the force on both sides of the cutting edge of the thread turning tool will increase sharply with the increase of the material removal rate, resulting in the failure of the cutting edge The accuracy of thread decreases and the cutting tool is damaged. Therefore, it is necessary to pay attention to the repeated cycle feed during cutting, and the cutting depth should be decreased according to a certain proportion each time. Internal thread and external thread are common, and the processing difficulty is generally small. It is enough to pay attention to the calculation of thread bottom. Today, we will talk about the main methods of thread cutting of CNC machining services lathe.

1. Grooving rough cutting method, first use the grooving cutter which is smaller than the width of the thread turning tool head to roughly cut a groove, and then use the thread turning tool to process the thread. Large pitch thread is often used, but the operation and programming are extremely cumbersome.

2. Interleaving cutting method: the thread turning tool is interleaved along the direction parallel to the left and right profile side to the tooth bottom, which is very suitable for large thread cutting, but the programming is complex.

3. Oblique feed method refers to the way that Z-direction feed and X-direction feed are linked to form an oblique line. At this time, the thread turning tool always has only one cutting edge to participate in the cutting, and the chip removal is smooth. The force and heat are smaller than that of straight feed method. However, when the thread depth is deep and the pitch is large, it is easy to produce the phenomenon of tool binding.

4. Straight forward method, refers to the lathe cutting, Z-direction for linear motion does not change, X-direction fractional feed a cutting depth, convenient and fast, high efficiency, usually small pitch ordinary thread can be used, but the turning tool is easy to wear, chip will scratch the thread surface.
