Whenever I see a watch like the HAUTLENCe Avant-Garde HLRQ 01, I realize how big the watch world is and how many I want. Hard to pronounce, but easy to look at, the HAUTLENCE Avant-Garde HLRQ 01 is one of those watches replica that will make you fall in love with watchmaking all over again.

In the same vein as bands such as Urwerk, MB F, and Hyt, Hautlence was founded in 2004 to create "original concepts in reading time". If you're curious about what exactly 'Hautlence' means, it's an anagram of the Swiss city (and home of the watchmaking industry) audience avant-garde replica ... minus the circumflex over the 'a', of course.

The HAUTLENCE Avant-Garde HLRQ 01 is the third iteration of the Avant-Garde HLRQ line. Yes, you guessed it, the other two are the HLRQ 02 and HLRQ 03. While the 02 and 03 have housings in stainless steel and grade 2 titanium, HAUTLENCE has stepped up the game with the 01, with its black multi-metal housing. Forged Titanium with DLC coating and 18K 4N rose gold.

The bezel, pushers, and lugs in rose gold and the case back and strap are made of black DLC-coated titanium. There's something about the contrast between DLC-coated titanium and rose gold that's just plain beautiful, and it's significantly lighter than an all-gold watch. The Avant-Garde HLRQ 01 (and 02 and 03) 44mm round case is also a nice departure from their usual rectangular cases.

You may realize I'm a bit of a car lover, in addition to my penchant for fine (or just plain cool) timepieces. So a multi-level dial with a minute retrograde indicator listening to a speedometer is very nice.

The timepiece that powers the HAUTLENCE Avant-Garde HLRQ 01 looks quite nice, which is good as it is shown on a very clear display through the display dial and through the back of the display. Many of the 255 parts of the 32-jewel hand-wound timepiece are well looked at. (Don't worry, there is a 40-hour power reserve.) HAUTLENCE has put some effort into finishing the movement of the Avant-Garde's HLRQ 01 by hand.

The plates are finished with a beautiful Côtes de Genève and hand-applied bevel on the bridges. The overall effect is that of a powerful, well-built, and stunning timepiece, just what anyone would expect from a $ 43,000 watch.

So yeah, as I said, the audience Swiss replica watch retails for $ 43,000. Not cheap, but a very good alternative to some of the other watches in that price range.
