Will HTC launch its flagship Android phone in 2019? We investigated the possibility of HTC U13 and what it might bring.

HTC was the top three players in the Android mobile phone market in the UK. In 2011, it was among the best in its games. Since then, the HTC front end has become more and more calm - and it seems quieter since Google's mobile business was snapped up by Google. But HTC has not yet completed with the flagship robot, so what can we expect in 2019?

HTC launched its current flagship U12+ on May 23, 2018, and shipped it in late June. As you read in our comments on this phone, we are not interested in this and are concerned that HTC no longer has everything it needs to keep up with competitors in the flagship market. Later this year, Exodus 1, which is basically a U12+ blockchain phone, has some redesigned software and mid-range HTC U12 Life.

In mid-November, Phandroid published an article stating that HTC will not release HTC U13 in 2019, and we should expect "other." After careful observation, the article only hinted that HTC may not launch U13 in the spring, but first introduced some mid-range phones. There are no big surprises, because this is exactly what happened in 2018.

HTC has clarified this situation since then, and the announcement insists that the news is inaccurate, claiming that its future efforts in the smartphone market will focus on 5G, artificial intelligence, blockchain and virtual reality applications.

President Darren Chen also told Digi Times that the company will focus on the follow-up work of HTC U12 + and U12 Life in the first half of 2019, and Focus Taiwan quoted him as saying they will be the latest extension of U12 +. But whether they are U12 or U13 brands, one thing is clear: HTC has not yet completed its flagship store.

Since HTC will launch U13, most of the technology media scene is still unstable, so there is almost no rumor about what it might bring. However, this does not stop conceptual images and rendering, such as those from the HTC U13+ video of the following Bleeding Edge:

All of these early concept videos seem to imply that the HTC U13 will use the mid-range Snapdragon 660, while the other 2019 flagships will fit Snapdragon 855 - if it does support 5G it is necessary.

This special video also claims to have a 5.9-inch (2160x1440) curved AMOLED display, a display fingerprint sensor, a 21Mp + 16Mp rear dual-lens camera, a 16Mp self-timer camera, 6 or 8GB of RAM, 128- or 256GB of storage. Space, 5,100mAh battery and HTC U-Sonic headphones - but only a lot of salt is needed.

For HTC, it makes sense to follow its competitors and integrate display fingerprint sensors, reduce the screen bezel and turn to AMOLED panel technology, but it seems unlikely that Snapdragon 660 is included. We expect to see at least 6GB of RAM on the Snapdragon 855.

At the same time, the camera on the HTC U12+ is the best camera we tested in 2018, so we look forward to more good things.
