Zelda Fan Rumors were "Frustrating" for Donkey Kong Game Developers Eric Kozlowsky was hired by Retro Studios, it resulted in rumors about the Retro Studios team in the process of developing the next Zelda game.

The artist had previously worked for PlayStation's Uncharted series and, for some reason, the fans to create a connection. However, Kozlowsky and Retro Studios were working on Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze which was released in late 2015. When the game's release date was announced in the first place, a lot of Zelda players slammed it as they wanted something else. In a recent interview on Kiki Talkz on Kiwi Talkz podcast, Kozlowsky admitted that the rumor was a source of disappointment for the team behind the development.

"Sometimes it's frustrating because it leads to false expectations. That's what I saw when we announced Tropical Freeze. Everyone was like 'they're working on a Zelda game It's something like a Zelda game', however, they were like 'nope!. And then we announced Tropical Freeze and it looks stunning and beautiful and then people say "oh, it's another Donkey Kong.'

You then realize that people are s**ting on it on Neogaf or something and you're like 'oh okay, well, everyone was thinking we were playing an Zelda game. And then you realize we don't do that. we do.' So yeah it's a bit both and sometimes we get a laugh out of it, but sometimes it becomes aggravating when it goes on for a way too long," said Kozlowsky.

Kozlowsky's comments are an interesting look at how rumors are propagated and the ways in which it could affect the way a game is received. Although Tropical Freeze might not have been the game many fans were hoping to see released the game received a lot reviews upon its launch.
