WoW Shadowlands Sylvana, Anduin Story Leaks In Datamined Cinematic

World of Warcraft: Shadowlands is set after the event of the aforementioned Battle for Azeroth expansion. Naturally, the new releases added a whole host of content to the experience, such as Covenants and Torghast (or Tower of the Damned) - the latter constituting a roguelike dungeon. The game launched in November 2020 to record-breaking numbers, moving 3.7 million units after just one day on the market. Such success catapulted Shadowlands to the honor of becoming the fastest-selling PC title up to that point. This honor was stripped away rather quickly, however, as Cyberpunk 2077 released shortly thereafter and promptly sold over 4.7 million copies on PC alone.

Despite the expansion's roll out several weeks ago, players are still stumbling across new content in World of Warcraft: Shadowlands. WoW-dedicated website Wowhead stumbled across datamined cinematic featuring new Anduin and Sylvanas story content. The cinematic takes place following the defeat of Sire Denathrius in Revendreth. In the footage, Sylvanas is tasked with convincing Anduin to agree to a plan put forth by her and the Jailer, a task which proves most difficult. Ultimately, the cinematic fades to black as Anduin and Sylvanas standoff against one another, leaving this particular story beat on quite the cliffhanger. For a time, Wowhead and others were confused as to whether players could access the footage in-game. However, it's since been discovered that the cinematic will play when the final Torghast questline transitions into Twisting Corridors.

Of course, the massive cliffhanger leaves many questions unanswered. Will Sylvanas follow through on the plan and pull Anduin over to their side. Or might the two ultimately go their separate ways without duking it out? Sylvanas' central role in Shadowlands makes this all that much more exiting, to say the least.

While players are enjoying their time exploring the new batch of World of Warcraft content, there have been a few growing pains. Notably, many players took issue with the difficulty spike in Torghast, resulting in an update that toned down the endgame activity's tough expectations.
