Welcome back, guys. Today we are going to talk about how to shorten faux wood blinds. So what you have to do is you have to get in there and cut everything except for the ones that you still need let me grab my scissors I'm gonna start at the bottom of this one here and I'm just gonna go ahead and cut this loose and then you're gonna just go on up the ladder being careful as you get towards the top you want to slow down and make sure that you don't cut too much and. So we want to you want to keep one of these horizontal ladders to go across the bottom of this of the space and you're gonna cut the one just beneath it the one that's just beneath it though I'm going to trim off at the edges because this party's gonna get tucked in like that cut that off they're being careful of course to cut only what you're intending to cut and not accidentally cutting something that you are not intending to cut and then you can cut these like that and. So we're going to keep about two rungs worth of the vertical cording for the ladder and that's gonna wrap around like this. Now I just tie it into a little knot because it makes it easier to tuck it in but it's not crucial and then you tuck it into the bottom here. If you don't have small fingers you might want to use a stylus or a pencil eraser or something to get that in there. It takes a couple of minutes sometimes for a minute and then just make sure that this top ladder is pretty tight against the base and then grab one of your plugs and stick it back in there and press it in firmly.

It does have like a couple of little indentations actually where the cording is supposed to go on either side and that if you can line that up that'll make it a little bit easier okay finally okay. So this one's done you can raise the moon mat and tilt the slats like before but now you don't have all that extra all those extra slats in there. Okay once again you aren't gonna want to leave one of these horizontal ladder run things intact or window blind, it's gonna go right above the base. So you're going to cut the two right below and I cut them on at the very edges. So that they will be easy to tuck in at one last look at tying this off in tucking in. So tie the knot and cut it down towards the bottom. So you have moved. So you have plenty of room to angle the courts or to have enough slack to be able to tuck them in making sure that your horizontal ladder is well situated on the bar on the base and then go ahead tuck in all the excess and take my plug again see where the notches are lined them up kind of in the general area of where the cording is and push it in there we go. So once you have done a few of these you'll start to get into a rhythm and you'll start to figure out some shortcuts I don't know if it's the lazy man's approach or what but I just love that didn't have to take these down to do this much much better than it was before with all those extra slats you see goes up and down easily thanks for reading.
