Why Trevor Hoffman Didn't Make the Hall of Fame

Over days gone by week, a great deal of writers have mentioned Trevor Hoffman narrowly missing enshrinement inside Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown. Each of the articles offered up a new reason that explains why he didn't receive enough votes for making it. They asked whether he was electric enough MLB The Show 18 Stubs to the Hall of Fame, grouped him to the broad sounding reliever, dove into his WAR, mentioned his off-the-field professionalism or centered on Hoffman's reaction.

People! Wake up!

When judging a farmer's greatness, we check out stats, and already we are gonna look at really the only stat that matters for just about any closer -- the save.

Trevor Hoffman secured a save 601 times. There is one person that has done it a lot more than Hoffman, Mariano Rivera, who stands at 652 saves. Behind those two sits more information on hopefuls, but not among them has even surpassed 500 MLB 18 Stubs saves.

Upon first glance, it's perplexing that Hoffman isn't a shoe-in within the second ballot. In fact, to begin with, I was outraged. But upon further investigation, I understood. Let's glance at the staple career stats a player should receive an almost-automatic bid for the Hall of Fame.
