As he took the field at training last July, he was the team's starting slot corner.
In minicamp 2017, his position coach is hoping he can impress on punt and kick coverage and protection, in addition to defense, to make the team.
During organized team activities (OTAs) Golson said he's physically 100 percent. Defensive backs coach Carnell Lake said he hopes Golson gets his speed back before training camp opens at the end of July.
"Our special teams coach, Coach http://www.officialbearsshops.com/shop-by-players-sherrick-mcmanis-... Smith, is going to probably be looking at him as one of those gunner types special teams core guys because of his athleticism, especially being a second rounder, we expect that out of him," Lake said.
Golson lost his rookie season to a shoulder injury and 2016 to a Lisfranc injury suffered on Day 4 of training camp.
Lake went on to explain that Golson really has to make the team on "two levels," being defense and special teams.
And that while Golson's reps in the offseason practices Adam Jones Kids Jersey have been given out sparingly, it's not due to caution.
