There is only one place in Montreal to eat if you seriously want to indulge. Pied de Cochon - The best, period. If you don't believe me just check out the reviews (you can't just walk in, you need to reserve). I've been twice and it was a religious experience. This rich plate of mushrooms, duck, foie gras...I live in BC now and still trying to figure out ways to visit Montreal so I can eat there. It's an awesome atmosphere which I'd describe as rustic gourmet. For example they offer house beer in 500mL Maison jars
