what does a solutions architect do

Professionals in cloud architecture must possess solid time management skills. Their days are varied and can include meeting with clients to address problems and needs, and designing architectural frameworks for those needs. There is no typical day: They can hold meetings, travel to attend face-to-face meetings with a client, write scripts, work on migrations, keep up to date with new features through online training or solve problems. Therefore, cloud architects are aware of the importance of planning their days, prioritizing their time on tasks, and understanding how to maximize small spaces of time.

Communication skills and business acumen

There are many stakeholders and stakeholders on the path to the cloud, from those who pay the bills, to the security team, the technical team and those who help make decisions about cloud providers. Cloud architects are encouraged to take an active role in decision-making and to be prepared to communicate their design to anyone interested. Successful cloud architects know how to communicate with audiences with little or no technical knowledge, while aligning their recommendations with business imperatives and benefits.

Decision ability

Often times, the cloud architect will be the person stakeholders come to guide them through the problems they face. The ability to provide a strong and clear perspective with confidence offers both the assurance that the company is in safe hands, and that the cloud solutions you have recommended are secure, resilient, cost-effective, and managed with operational excellence. Decision-making capacity does not necessarily imply that it is a dominant or predominant function. Cloud architects can provide guidance from a quiet and prominent position of subject mastery.
