Construction Management means the overall planning, coordinating and control of a project from the starting to end day of its completion. It is also known as Construction Project Management. The place of work is called the construction industry and it is composed of five sectors- residential, commercial, and heavy civil, industrial, and environmental.

It is very much required for any type of construction to minimize the cost of the project while maintaining the quality of the project.

The functions of construction management typically include the following:

Specifying project objectives and plans including delineation of scope, budgeting, scheduling, setting performance requirements, and selecting project participants.
Maximizing resource efficiency through the procurement of labor, materials, and equipment.
Implementing various operations through proper coordination and control of planning, design, estimating, contracting and construction in the entire process.
