Asus routers are one of the best selling routers in the market. But no matter how efficient any machine is, it is bound to have some errors sometimes. The router might not be able to connect to internet. There can be server issues. There are troubleshooting ways through which you can resolve the issue like rebooting the router and restarting the devices. When the troubleshooting ways does not work and you still face the error, Asus router factory reset is the most effective solution. You can set the router back to default settings and in the process it will also get rid of any errors. Another reason why you need to reset the router is when you forget the login credentials. If you do not remember the username or password of your Asus router, you can set it back to default settings. Then, login through the default credentials and change the credentials thereafter. There are two ways to reset Asus router login. The first is using the web interface and second through the reset button. Let’s have a look at the steps for both the methods.


Steps to reset through reset button:


 Locate the reset button at the back of your router. If you are not able to find it, have a look at the manual and see where it is located.
 Switch on your router.
 Press and hold the reset button for 15-20 seconds.
 When you see the lights on the router starts flashing, release the reset button.
 The router will initiate reboot and set back to default factory settings.


Steps to reset using web interface:


 Open a web browser in your computer with internet connection.
 Type router.asus.com or the default IP address, 192.168.0.1 in the URL section.
 Click enter and your will be directed to the login page. Enter the login credentials of the router.
 Go to the settings and click on administration. You will find the option under advance settings.
 Chose the Restore option next to factory default.

 Click on ok to reset the router.


Now that your router is set back to default settings. You must be wondering, how to reset Asus router password. The process is quite simple. After resetting the router, login to your router using default username, admin and Asus router default password, password. Navigate to settings and click on change password. Enter the current password. Create and type the new password twice. Click ok to save the changes
