Most car companies have lined up new launches keeping in mind the renewed customer sentiment. Let us have a look at some of the most exciting upcoming cars in India that may be launched in 2021.
Entry Level – Maruti 800
The entry-level offering of Maruti is expected to receive a much-needed facelift. Facing stiff competition from the Renault KWID which has already upped the standards in this category, Maruti has no choice now but to respond with a matching product. It needs to be seen whether Maruti can fight the reigning heartthrob, the Renault KWID, with this new model.
Hatchback
The most voluminous segment of them all is likely to see a lot of action in the form of facelifts. Most existing car models are likely to get a facelift this year. This may include the Wagon R and Swift from Maruti, Tiago and Altroz from Tata Motors, i10 from Hyundai, and KUV100 from Mahindra. Besides, there is a likelihood of an EV Wagon R and EV Tiago this year.
Sedan
Just like the hatchbacks, most sedans may undergo a facelift rather than seeing a lot of new models. This includes the Swift Dzire, Honda Amaze, Tata Tigor, and the Hyundai Verna. There may also be facelifts in the premium sedan segment for cars like the Hyundai Elantra, and MarutiCiaz.
SUV
Going by the recent trend, this is the segment that is likely to experience the most action and also the most consumer interest. SUVs have seen a dramatic rise in preference in the last couple of years. While every carmaker is revamping its existing offering in this segment, it is the Renault KIGER that is drawing the maximum attention. GLOBAL REVEAL OF RENAULT KIGER IN INDIA ON JANUARY 28. . Renault KIGER will be launched in the B-segment which accounts for more than 50% of the total industry sales and will be instrumental in growing Renault’s presence across the country. The Renault KIGER design studios of Renault, the KIGER are touted as a world car that will be first introduced in India. Built on the same platform as the Renault TRIBER, the KIGER is expected to be one hot car. Likely to be the most spacious and ergonomic in design, the car is expected to come up with a host of “best-in-class” and “first-in-the-industry” features just like Renault’s previous offerings.
The hatchback and the SUV are likely to experience the most action in the year 2021 compared to any other segment. However, in either of the cases, the customer will emerge as the ultimate winner as she will get the best of what is available today.
