UGC NET exam is conducted in two papers (Paper-I and Paper-II) consisting of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and all questions are compulsory. The candidates who have cleared UGC NET as per the minimum qualifying marks, i.e., 40% for General and 35% for Reserved Category shall be declared ‘Pass’ in the UGC NET exam.


The exam pattern for UGC NET will be objective-type and there will be two papers for each subject. Paper 1 consists of 50 MCQs and paper 2 consists of 100 MCQs. Students will be given three hours to finish the exam. The good news is that there will not be any negative marking.
The UGC NET exam consists of two papers. The first paper is common for all candidates and the second paper contains subject-specific questions.
