Top problems with silk rugs and how to avoid them

Silk is the hottest emerging trend in Rug World, and these stunning Floor rugs are appearing everywhere including at professional rug cleaners. Silk rugs are beautiful pieces for the home decoration, but we think that homemakers are unaware about that that this soft, luxurious floor covering is extremely difficult, hard to clean. So today Rugs Christchurch team discusses the Silk rugs.

  • Liquids

One of the biggest problems for silk is its delicacy and issues with water. The artificial silk fabric has poor with water or other liquids. Because water or liquids weakens the rug and changes the appearance of the fabric pile, even spilling water on it looks like a stain. This cannot be spot cleaned because they are not stained.

This staining look is formed because the fabric has been altered in the area of the spill. It needs a professional cleaning to fix it. But, if the rug looks darker after professional cleaning that means silk rugs are not as hardwearing or as easy to care for as many every homemaker. These rugs best suited at little traffic area, or as a wall piece.

  • Crushing

The silk fiber is highly susceptible to crushing. This means the fibers can easily flatten or crease when it comes underfoot or traffic area. It makes it difficult for the fabric to work with and keep nice in a home, especially if it is used on the floor.

  • Staining

The biggest problems with artificial Silk rugs are their susceptibility to staining. This is the fact why silk reacts badly to liquids, meaning anything spilled on the rug is likely to set in the fibers forever. While giving it someone to removing stains it is never guaranteed that they can be cleaned. Further, if you try to clean the stain from the rug yourself at home, it is highly likely you will set the stain. Once a stain is set into silk it cannot be removed, even by professional cleaners.

Carpet Mats of silk is stained, you have the choice to either live with it or throw the rug away. Unfortunately, if thousands of silk rugs end up in landfills, it makes their positive environmental impact moot.

You described a lot of problems faced by the owners of silk rugs. But I also have advice to solve one of these problems. If we talk about stains that sometimes appear on silk capets, you can use any detergent for silk that you can found on this site https://cleaningproductslab.com/detergent-for-silk/ . Really very high quality detergents, I used several times, tried to choose the best one but they are all very good. so I strongly advise you to try it if the need arises
