Tips to Boost Android Phones’ Battery Life

We are aware of the sky-touching android technology. These days smartphones are getting more powerful with larger battery sources to keep up with the consumers’ habit of phone usage. Battery size has increased gradually over the past few years. Manufacturers are now focussing on providing optimal battery life to enhance user experience. Most manufacturing companies are now offering smartphones with a day’s battery life on average. However, the battery is indeed one of the easiest and fastest degradable components of your android smartphone. Battery life is an essential aspect of user experience. Your device without zero power is of no use, with zero functionality. So, like any other important factor that makes up the device, battery life is equally important.

If you wish to conserve the battery power of your android device to make it last longer in between charges, here is a list of ways you can implement to optimize your android devices’ battery life.

TURN ON POWER SAVER MODE

What if you are stuck at a place in some weird situation where you might need your phone’s battery to last a bit longer than it normally does. What do you do? Simply turn on power saver mode on your device and get that extended battery life you need. This automatically turns off all the battery-eating functions.

Most android phones do offer this feature as an in-built facility.

REDUCE SCREEN BRIGHTNESS

Screen brightness varies, and that depends from user to user. However, if you are trying to save battery power, then you may be required to rethink your screen brightness. Although smartphones look great with crip high resolution and pixels, they are battery hoggers. The optimal brightness levels are somewhere near 80%-90%. However, if you are trying to reduce battery consumption, you may need to reduce it even further. Make sure your brightness level isn’t too low as it may be strenuous to your eyes while using the device.

SYNC SETTINGS

Notifications are essential. But in case you are finding them too intrusive and hate persistent pings annoying you, try disabling auto-sync. In this way, you will get notified only when you use a particular app and refresh it manually. This way, you will also add on to your battery as it will not refresh any longer in the background to notify you with new information.

In order to disable auto-sync, go to settings > Accounts, and there, you will find the Automatically sync data options at the bottom. You can also do the same on a per-app basis.

REDUCE SCREEN TIME-OUT DURATION

One of the simplest ways to reduce battery consumption is to reduce screen timeout duration. This lowers your screen time and boosts battery power.

For this, go to Settings and choose the Display option from the drop-down list. In the display section, look for the screen timeout option and reduce screen timeout to the lowest possible option.

TRY DARK MODE

Yeah, dark mode is appealing to the eyes, but it really doesn’t do much until and unless your device is OLED or AMOLED. Most of the older android versions may have LCD screens. If your phone has a display of such kind, it may be of great help in boosting your battery life. This is because the OLED and AMOLED display actually turns off the pixels that display black and saves battery power. Turning on the dark mode has been a proven way to boost battery life.

For this, you can simply turn it on by going to the settings and looking for the dark mode option in the list of options. Also, you can search for the toggle key in the quick settings in the phone’s drop-down shade.

REPLACE LIVE WALLPAPERS

If you are thinking about how your battery is draining so quickly? Well, this may be your wallpaper or the theme you are using. If you are trying to save battery power, then you need to rethink of fancy live wallpaper you are using. Yes, live wallpapers a big no-no in such cases. Also, it will be of great help if you limit yourself to use fewer colors in the wallpaper as it will eat lesser power this way.

If you are someone who has OLED or AMOLED display, then black is the color for you! It will save you ample battery power.

LIMIT BACKGROUND ACTIVITY

Do you know that most of the apps you use daily usually run in the background to provide real-time updates via notifications? Yes, they do.

But if you are trying to save power, then restricting these apps from running in the background may be worth considering. This will significantly reduce battery consumption. So, for this, you need to manually turn off background data usage. Go to the Settings, then select Apps and Notifications from the drop-down list of options. Then, select all the apps you don’t or rarely use. Now, select Data Usage and disable the toggle. This will disable the apps from running in the background.

DISABLE KEYBOARD SOUNDS AND VIBRATION

Keyboard sounds and vibrations can also lead to a significant amount of battery consumption. So, the users can look forward to disabling these options to boost their device’s battery life.

For this, look for settings and go to the sound and vibration option from the list. Scroll down and look for system sounds and disable keyboard sound and touch vibration.

Additionally, you may also disable sounds for screenshot capture, unlock screen to give that extra boost to your battery life.

CONCLUSION These are some of the tried and tested tips and tricks to boost your phone, battery life. If you try on even some of these, you may see significant results.
