The Use of Left Handed Scissors For Hairdressing Training

It is not only the stylists Gaia’s Protocol Review that may lack knowledge of the left handed scissors but also many sales reps are not aware of this. Sometimes their lack of knowledge will lead you to believe that scissors are universal in that they can be used either left or right-handed. For the left-handed person trying to struggle with the right-handed scissors they know this isn't a true claim. Then there are the reps that tell you all of their left-handed clients get used to the right-handed scissors. You have been trying forever and you still aren't used to it so this statement by the rep is a fallacy as well. They are not purposely trying to deceive you they just lack the proper knowledge regarding their products.

With the actual left handed scissors, you are going to note that the blades and handles are the exact opposite to the right-handed pairs. This in itself tells you there is no opportunity for conversion. Even if you did convert it then it would still be in essence right-handed scissors.

In case you aren't sure how to identify, a pair of left-handed scissors does not just rely on the sales reps word about it. We have already shown how they can be innocently mistaken. The true left scissors with have the thumb hole blade at the back of scissors. This is known as the moving blade. If you hold a pair of scissors in your hand and the thumb handle blade is at the front, then these are right handed scissors.

Just because you are left handed, does not mean that you have to have or convert to left handed scissors just because they are on the market. If you are new to the industry then you would be more comfortable purchasing a pair. On the other hand, if you are a seasoned pro in the industry and have been working with right hand scissors for years then there is no reason for change. If you are, experiencing discomfort and pain with the right scissors then most definitely purchase a set of left-handed ones. In this particular case, you could convert the right-handed scissors into a converted pair. This is only applicable in this particular case because you have already become comfortable with the crab grip and to switch now after all these years may be foreign to you.
