Sony has traditionally followed the two-year release calendar of its flagship product line, and the Xperia 1 clock announced at the February MWC is injecting time into Xperia 2.

We hope that Sony will announce its new mobile phone at the IFA show in September and hold a press conference on September 5th at 1pm CEIBS. We will be attending that event and bring you news directly from the show.

However, Xperia 1 did not start selling until the end of June, so Sony may choose to postpone the Xperia release date to MWC 2020. The current price is £849, so Xperia 2 is expected to be sold at a similar price.

Sony's upcoming Xperia 20 is a mid-range game with an upgraded Snapdragon 710 processor. It is expected to land in IFA in 2019, which is our understanding of the new Sony mobile phone.

It is not uncommon for Sony to launch new phones at six-month intervals, and the Xperia 10 was announced at the MWC in February, and the Xperia 20 is expected to be on display at the IFA show in September.

Sony started a press conference at CET on September 5th at 1pm, and we are looking forward to seeing the new flagship product on Xperia 2. There may even be a Plus version because the Xperia 10 comes in two sizes: 6 inches and 6.5 inches.

As mentioned earlier, the new Xperia 20 is expected to feature a 6-inch panel with the same full HD+ resolution and 21:9 aspect ratio. However, the new products include the Snapdragon 710 processor - an upgraded version of the 630 - and a glass back instead of a metal design.

The latter is visible in the rendering provided by based conceptual illustration in which the power button previously seen next to the fingerprint sensor disappears mysteriously and is now apparently built into the sensor itself.

A USB-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack can be seen at the edge, as well as a SIM tray that is said to also have a microSD card.

As before, there is a dual-lens camera on the back and it is considered to have been upgraded from the original 12Mp + 5Mp configuration to two 12Mp lenses.

Interestingly, with the Xperia 10 equipped with dual speakers, the Xperia 20 renders only one speaker grille.

The case presented by Slash leaks also shows that the Xperia 20 will retain its large top bezel, which is starting to look outdated in today's market.

The leaked spec sheet seems to confirm the inclusion of the Snapdragon 710, as well as 4GB / 6GB RAM and 64GB / 128GB storage options. The Xperia 20 is reported to be 158x69x8.1mm.

The Xperia 10 is priced at £299, so we expect its follow-up prices to be similar.
