The Reasons Why Window Cleaning is a Crystal Clear Choice

Everyone knows that their windows should be clean, but what are the reasons why windows should be crystal clear? Having clear and clean windows will help to improve the curb appeal of a home, aid in inviting costumers inside a business, and when done on a consistent basis will save money. Windows begin to look unclean for a variety of reasons. Minerals from a sprinkler can accumulate over time and reduce the clarity. Rain water can contain small particulates and run off that causes build up on windows. Over spray from painting, chalking, and mortar can also negatively affect the visibility of a window. Anyone who lives along the ocean has seen the sea spray on their windows.

Imagine you are looking for your next dream home and you drive by a home that has dirty, disgusting windows, what do you do? Keep driving. This is a very important factor that some home owners tend to neglect, the importance of having clean windows. Windows are meant to be inviting, they let a potential home-seeker look inside the residence to see what the house has to offer. Having spotless windows creates a good first impression and when selling your home making a good first impression is everything. The president of the National Association of Real Estate Appraisers, John Aust states, "a good first appearance on a home can add as much as 5 to 10 percent to the value of the home." So always make sure you have a window cleaning in guelph performed before selling or showing off your home.

For those who have found their permanent home think about the impression a dirty window gives your guests. You are having dinner at your friends house when you notice their windows are spotty and have mildew growing around the edges, so you start to think what else in this home is dirty and you decide to call it a night. Had the windows been clean you might have been more inclined to stay a while longer and enjoy the company of your friends.

Window cleaning should be performed often for business owners that wish to have a prosperous and successful industry. Clean windows are essential to getting customers inside the store. If the windows are so dirty the customer can not see what is inside why would they ever enter the store? Even small spots on a window can be noticed, especially while a customer is "window shopping" to see more detail or the price.

Glass is porous and over time a lack of maintenance could cause damage which can be very costly. Someone who has just spent large amounts of money to install storm windows or energy efficient windows should remember the most important step, proper cleaning. Without regular cleanings, over time hard water and minerals can begin to infuse the glass and cause significant damage which only more costly procedures such as glass restoration and complete reinstallation can remedy.

Whether you are a home or business owner having clear and spotless windows is vital. Your home will be more inviting to others, you will be making a good impression on others, and you will increase the overall price of the house while spending only a small amount of money, especially compared to costly kitchen and bath remodels performed to help sell a home. Businesses owners will entice more costumers and see more profits with their sparkling clear windows. So remember to get those windows spotless and let the sunshine in.

Spring is Here! You Know What That Means - Time to Get Those Windows Cleaned!

Go ahead, take a look out of your windows from your office, or livingroom. What do you see? If the first thing you see is the grime and dirt on the window, then this article is definitely for you. What I am going to tell you is the easiest way possible to clean your windows on your own in the shortest amount of time.

Of course, it all depends on how large or small your home is. If you live in the San Diego area, and would rather let a professional window cleaning company handle it for you then simply click on the link at the bottom of this article and my company would be happy to help, or I will even send one of my men to show you how to do it for an hour.

First, lets start by naming off a list of the things you will need.

The store to get all this stuff, it would be best to find your local janitorial supply house but you can go to Lowes or Home Depot and get everything you need from them, its just that the quality is not that great. If you go to a supply house you can get professional equipment from the same brands that the above-mentioned stores will sell you, they just sell the flimsy low-end stuff. So, here is what you will need.

1 5 gallon Bucket

1 18" Squeegee

1 T-Bar Scrubber (to scrub the window glass with)
Professional window cleaning soap (there are "green" soaps out there)

10 Microfiber detailing towels

1 4' ladder

1 22' ladder

1 strong putty knife

This will cost you about 200-300 bucks (mainly because of the ladders).

Now when you are ready to clean those windows, start on the outside first. Take your long ladder and pick a spot to start on, doing the top windows first and the bottom windows last.

Take your putty knife and put it in your back pocket. Fill up your bucket about 3/4 full of water and put your soap in it. Take your t bar scrubber and dip it in the bucket and take your squeegee and place the blade in your back pocket or front pocket and walk up the ladder.

Next set your scrubber on the top rung of the ladder. Take your putty knife and opposite where the springs in the screen are, gently pry the screen towards the springs up and out. Take the screen out and set it at your feet between the ladder and your legs. Take your scrubber and wash the window quickly, then take your squeegee and squeegee the window clean from either top to bottom or side to side.

After some practice you can use different methods with the squeegee, but to begin with you can use this method.

Then take your towel, and wipe the edges of the glass, and any drips that may have formed. YOUR DONE. Move on to the next window.

Generally each window for a beginner will take upwards of 10 minutes per window. A professional window cleaner will take about 1 minute on each window. If he is cleaning the window tracks, of course it will take much longer than that, but just the glass cleaning is very quick.

Once you get the hang of it, if you do it every 3 or 4 months, you will be able to do it much faster and of course save yourself some money so you won't have to hire a professional to do it for you.
