The miracle-minded recognize that prayer would be to ask to learn to forgive first so that correct prayer is launched back into song. Spiritual specialness refers to persons working out their egos' specialness, but disguising it as spiritual dress. That frequently will come in the proper execution of thinking that they have received "special" recommendations, "special" favors, or "special" commissions from "special" heavenly persons such as Jesus or the Sacred Soul, all of which acts to create these individuals spiritually distinctive from the others and thus more "special" (Few Pick To Hear, p. 141).

What we're calling "spiritual specialness" looks in the members of virtually all spiritual or religious movements. This generally is available in the form of thinking that the class or people have now been singled out by Lord or the Sacred Heart to perform some holy function which will benefit humanity and lead towards the preserving of the world. Nevertheless, such intrinsic specialness is actually incorrect with the teachings of A Course in Miracles (Few Pick To Listen, p. 144).
