The Mystique of the Dual Rifle - Portion One

For those who know such a thing about firearms, the dual rifle has generally elicited awe and respect. It tells of early days of hunting harmful game in India and Africa; when men pitted their hunting power against probably the most harmful sport on the "dark continent.

It elicits respect due to the fine workmanship bestowed on dual rifles as well as the technology involved to help make the rifle into a very effective firearm.Prior to the invention of smokeless dust, semi-automatic rifles as well as secure activity weapons, it was the hunter armed with an individual opportunity rifle and tubes full of black powder Small pistol primers.

The thing that was required was a big and ergo strong cartridge in order to provide down an elephant or receiving lion with the main one opportunity at the hunter´s disposal. If this opportunity unsuccessful, then there would be one less hunter on the planet!! Enter the double rifle.

If however shot a sizable dimension projectile with dark dust, but it had two barrels if the very first opportunity must fail. These guns were produced in large calibers like the 12 bore (12 gauge) so the black dust propellant can deliver optimum shock to the target. Some of the these dual guns were developed in to what's called a paradox double rifle.

The initial the main barrel was easy bore and toward the conclusion of the barrel it had been rifled to offer the projectile a spin and hence give stabilization through their flight. As the gun smithing artwork progressed, calibers such as the 577, 577/450, 450, 470 and ultimately the 600 nitro express were placed available on the market with the dual guns chambered for these cartridges.
