The Kitchen Sink is Clogged? Check your Garbage Disposal

If water in your kitchen sink stops draining out and you have installed a garbage disposal, there may be something wrong with your garbage disposal. Your garbage disposal may be clogged!

What causes the garbage disposal clog?
The causes of the garbage disposal clog can be generally divided into two groups. On one hand, the users may have put some improper items into the garbage disposal. We should notice that some items may prevent the garbage disposal from working and even cause damage to it. Such items include eggshells, coffee grounds, potato peels, banana peels and so on. We should not put these stuff into the garbage disposal.

On the other hand, the owners do not clean the garbage disposal timely. To prevent it from blocking, it’s better that the owners form a good habit of flushing the garbage disposal after use. And they need to make sure they put enough water down the garbage disposal when it is grinding since the waste cannot be flushed away through the pipe and is likely to build up if the flushing water is not enough.
