Where did sex dolls come from?
Sex dolls are very realistic nowadays, aren't they? But sex dolls didn't start out so well. Sex dolls are tools for human masturbation and are rumoured to have been created during the Second World War. According to various sources, Hitler can be called the "driving force behind the birth of the sex doll".

There are two theories about Hitler's relationship with sex dolls.

One is that in order to ensure the purity of German blood, Hitler forbade Germans from having sexual relations with women of non-Aryan origin. Dolls ;
The other theory is that Hitler was trying to prevent the spread of sexually transmitted diseases in the Nazi army, so he ordered SS commander Himmler to develop sex dolls in secret.
Although this research ended in failure for the Nazis, it may have been inspired by this. Later, similar sex toys began to be sold in Germany in the 1950s.

Inflatable dolls become popular
By the 1970s, sex dolls began to develop commercially. A plastic inflatable humanoid masturbator was developed in Japan. It was very similar to an inflatable swimming ring: it could be folded for storage during normal use and only deformed into a human shape when inflated. This is why it is also known as an "inflatable doll".

The inflatable doll is still a far cry from the real thing.

In fact, the inflatables of that era were more 'human balloon toys' than 'human masturbators' - they were simple, crude balloon toys. Compared to today's inflatable mascots in front of shopping malls, these inflatables were simply more human in appearance, with a hole or two for sex.

But despite this, the inflatables were in great demand and were well received upon their introduction - especially in Japan where sales were brisk! There are actually other extreme uses for such things. For example, during the floods in Australia in early January 2011, two 19-year-olds relied on an inflatable doll as a life preserver for their rescue. It was really funny.

Portable sex dolls, convenient but unsatisfactory
One of the trends in human invention is simplicity and dexterity. So in the 1980s there was the "palm-sized doll" that is still popular today. Roughly equivalent to a large hollowed-out banana, they were easy to use, easy to carry and easy to conceal, making them a much sought-after product.

However, a doll this small isn't too different from a masturbator. After all, most people still want a full hug, not just a full hand job.

Sex dolls that are close to the real look
The late 1980s saw the emergence of sex dolls that were closer to real people. At first, the whole body of these dolls was hard, even angular! And their poses were fixed and single, not at all adequate for all kinds of sex.

To overcome these shortcomings, a prototype of a simulated sex doll was developed in the early 1990s, the Combination Sex Doll. The various parts of the body of this doll can be disassembled and assembled so that they can be posed in different ways.

In addition, their faces were made prettier, catering to people's aesthetic needs to a certain extent. However, the details are still not as good as they could be. For example, the skin is still very hard and not sufficiently detailed and realistic.

TPE and silicone Love dolls
By the end of the 1990s, the skeletal properties, skin feel and features of sex dolls had improved considerably.

Japan began experimenting with dolls made from artificial bones, hoping that their poses would be more flexible and varied, thus giving the user a more realistic feel. However, it is really difficult to achieve this. After all, human bones and joints have a complex structure and flexible movements that are not easy to imitate. Nowadays there are already various types of sex dolls, there are Japanese sex dolls, mature sex dolls, young sex dolls, anime sex dolls, elf sex dolls, whatever you like there is something for you

In addition, people are starting to use advanced medical non-toxic soft silicone or PVC materials to make sex dolls. These materials are more flexible to the touch. People even put a battery in the doll to keep it at a constant "body temperature" of 37°C for a certain period of time, making it addictive to the sensation of a real hug!
In terms of appearance, the sex dolls have also taken a quantum leap forward. Their hair is completely real and their faces are mostly made by AV actresses.

Guess the future
The future of sex dolls is likely to be dominated by the trend of "further enhancement". Sex dolls can now simulate the panting, body heat and even the release of bodily fluids of real people! In the future, sex dolls may be able to recognise the user's identity, flirt with them, play sex games and respond to different positions and postures.
