Robin is missing, no one in Gotham has seen him as such or as Dick Grayson in a couple of days. A mysterious man called Ra's Al Ghul appears at the Batcave claiming to have a clue about his whereabouts; studying an image provided by the strange intruder, the first clue takes them to Calcuta in a search for both Robin and Al Ghul's daughter, that Al Ghul claims was abducted the same night that Batman's closest ally and friend.
Robin is kidnapped, and Batman unexpectedly joins forces with Ra's Al Ghul, whose daughter Talia has also been taken.
Once again, it's pretty odd that a villain like Ra's Al Ghul would have to wait this long to get his own episode. Anyway, the story certainly had a lot to deliver in just 22 minutes, but thankfully it does. You get to know who Ra's is, how he runs his organization, and just how much power he has. It's pretty creepy for one person to have as much power as Ra's does. The episode's basically a giant test, with Ra's about to die at the ripe old age of 600, he looks for a successor in Bruce, but just asking him isn't enough. No, for some reason he has to kidnap Dick and help Bruce track him down. Unlike other episodes, this one focuses more on the mystery than action or themes. This isn't a bad thing either, the mystery's pretty good, and the twist has hints to it littered throughout the episode, which makes it cooler on subsequent views. Based on the cliffhanger, I'm interested to see how the story plays out. Has Ra's gone mad like Jason Todd when he was exposed to the Lazarus Pit? Or was he this crazy all along? We'll have to wait to find out.
Batman: The Animated Series

One of the most successful and loved franchise of Batman, depicts the comic version at its best by going deep into the character's perspective rather than trying to cover-up or justify its sketchy tone. The animation is not only convincingly good but also seems like a lot of thought is invested on its cinematography which for the most part of it works on metaphorical way. Kevin Conroy seems the apt choice to be the voice of Batman (although not so sure about Bruce Wayne) and so does Robert Hastings for Commissioner James Gordon as it has the right amount of depth in it. A smarter approach by the makers by narrowing it down to only 20 minutes and get right to the point, keeping the audience engaged. It also brings in bigger cast like Mark Hamill to do the voice over of Joker, which is done with genuine passion and enthusiasm that is clearly visible on screen. Addition to that, the makers keep some of the villains under their sleeve and uses it as a trump card whenever felt necessary that helps in continuity and glue all individual cases as much as possible.

Season 01

It, being the longest and acclaimed season of it all since this is where the scrutiny began which got the series its Emmy too. Since the season covers up more than half of the series, it comes with larger expectations to fill especially on terms of character development; the key that helps the viewers last long and enthusiast throughout the course of it. Also, it takes a smarter approach on projecting more of newer character's perspective (mostly its the villain), as it helps to create the anticipated impact.

The Demon's Quest Part 1

An amazing take on depicting a familiar tale as it starts gathering clues, travel across various places, bonds different sides of coin, executes a brilliant dramatic sequences and in the end offers an amazing nail-biting cliffhanger.
