That is what it boils down to, isn't it? Without a powerful enough endgame to PSO2 Meseta maintain players after all, there's little point in sticking around past the credits. Interesting, but narrow in extent. In the wrong hands, it's ripe for abuse (take a bow, EA), however constructing Diablo IV using a live service arrangement in mind would guarantee that stagnation never sets in ever again. Bungie success with the Destiny franchise is evidence that the system may work. The magic ingredient? Respect for the consumer."PvP is something we have been considering and working on because the very first Diablo. It is something that's been a long time coming, you'll need to go back to Diablo II to find it. We're in the center of prototyping some really interesting approaches to player versus player and we're just about to lock them in," said Allen Adham. It refreshing that the team is looking for ways to produce PvP fun rather than leaning on the mechanisms set with Diablo II in place. "The consequences of the big, societal, connected open world... that is something you're likely to know more as you play. The tech that allows us to conduct a massive open seamless world, and what that enables us to reach, is an order of magnitude greater than anything we've ever done in Diablo before."

This experience will apparently compliment the aspects of Diablo IV. "We chose the Druid from Diablo II but brought back it even better. Now wolves and shapeshifts flanked him to the werebear along with the werewolf. Because it is Diablo, we dial it all the way up to 11, too; we have shapeshifting, but we also have crazy nature spells to complement that," continued Allen Adham.

"One of the challenges we all had in creating this match was remaining true for Diablo, Diablo II and Diablo III while pushing what all those games stood for to the next level." It is too early to say for certain, but we definitely hope the Blizzard team working on Diablo IV is able to push the show to the next level successfully. Are you excited for the new new tactics to PvP or feeling like a total hero in the PvE?
