When developing or redesigning a website or web application, assess accessibility early and throughout the development process to identify accessibility issues as early as possible, when they are easiest to resolve.

There are useful tools for this evaluation. However, no single tool can determine whether a site meets accessibility standards. Even if you are not knowledgeable about accessibility and do not have tools to evaluate it, you can still check some of the accessibility aspects.

Here are some links to resources to help evaluate web accessibility. The accessibility assessment is also called "analysis", "audit" or "test".

Silktide

If your site has a lot of dynamic content from scripts, you can opt for the WAVE extension for Chrome, which also has 100% security and reporting and is ideal for evaluating password-protected sites, such as trading portals and intranets.

YouTube Closed Captioning

There are very few tools that empower designers and developers to access auditory aspects of web content. Although this is not strictly an evaluation tool, YouTube natively offers a resource that can help increase accessibility within your video content.

Closed captioning allows you to show your video content to a wider audience, specifically for those who are hard of hearing, or those who speak different languages. If you use YouTube to host or embed video content, you can take advantage of manual transcription and captioning capabilities within Video Manager.
