Swift is currently having a waiting period of approx

Maruti Swift, one of the most popular hatchbacks from the stable of the market leader Maruti, is speculated to get a formal face-lift soon. The buzz in the automobile industry is doing rounds from a while now that the all-new Maruti Swift would be launched globally in 2011 and probably hit Indian shores too. The car is already in great demand in India and has managed to cross the 4.5 lakh mark within 5 years of being launched.
Swift is currently having a waiting period of approx. 2 months and a face-lift with added features and better engine would be an icing on the cake for the hatchback. Although there is no official confirmation from the company on this, but according to the speculations it would ride on a completely new platform and the petrol engine used would be based on advanced turbocharging and butterfly valve gearbox technology that would deliver better performance and provide greater economy.
Presently called the "2011-Swift" would be dressed with smart and trendy looks catering to today's youth. It might be blessed with a new dashboard layout and the steering wheel would sport more comfortable and handy controls. In order to compete head-on with its arch rivals the company is planning to enhance the interior comfort and space of the hatchback as well.
The company's spokesperson has not commented officially on the proceedings of the same as a part of the company policies but said that Maruti Suzuki is laying all its expectations and focus on the soon to be launched cars that includes Kizashi.
The all-new Swift is expected to be showcased this year at the Paris Auto show to be held in Oct'2010. The revamped version to be launched in India is speculated to sport engines ranging from 1.2 liter and 1.4 liter direct injected petrol engines to a 1.5 liter K- Series petrol engine. These engines are known to provide best in-class mileage and performance.
