Stages of Spiritual Awakening: Finding Your True Self

Be true to yourself, is a common admonition. Put another way, Try not to attempt to be another person. Be authentic. But who am I and how do I find out who I really am? Is the real me the person I think I am? Or then again is it what others say? Which of the numerous voices that attempt to define me is true? Jeremiah, the prophet, wrote these words to record God's words: Above all else, the heart is deceitful and cannot be cured. Who can comprehend it? I, the LORD, look into a person's heart and mind to reward him based on how he acts and what he deserves. Revelation 17:9) God emphasizes in this passage that we are prone to error and require assistance in defining who we are. Additionally, He declares Himself to be the one who accurately interprets our emotions.

We were made to be in relationship with God. In a letter to the church in Colossae that Jesus wrote, the apostle Paul said that Christ made everything (Colossians 1:16). If this is the case, then only the One who created us for Himself can appropriately identify and comprehend us.

We have a body, a soul, and a spirit when we are born, and our spirits yearn to connect with God. We are made in God's picture, with limits that mirror a portion of His temperament, including self-reflection, knowledge, imagination, moral obligation, and a requirement for relationship. Everyone has the capacity to love and act in a good way, as well as a common desire to follow our own paths without God or to sin and do wrong. Every individual has a special character, demeanor, and qualities. Each of us was brought up in a unique setting, namely our family of origin or household, and as a result, we each have a past that continues to have an impact on us today.

Christ's descriptions, interpretations, and understandings become binding for us once we are connected to Him. As I live alongside Christ, I truly know myself.

3) Deeper Intimacy with God Our development into a deeper intimacy with God frequently takes place as a result of our suffering.
