The gameplay is fine but $20 for a remastered game with less features than previous iterations (no online multiplayer, no key rebinding, no V-Sync, no multiple resolution) is not something I've recommend. Lack of playerbase is not a good incentive to compete in leaderboards, this game was somehow unnoticed by big STG communities. Also I'm having some weird FPS drop problem (GTX 1070) wich is very annoying. Posted this issue on Steam forums and got my post moved away for it to be unnoticed. Not that I care much about mods, but it felt very rude. I will ask for a refund and might rebuy later at better price.. fun as hell. Bring back your space invaders memories with flashy explosions and twitchy sounds. If you loved Space Invaders back then, then you'll fall in love again with this one too. Just play it.. Great new version of the original shoot-'em-up, remastered & reworked for the 21st century!. Works pretty well. Brings back memories. Only used the keyboard controls. Not sure if it's good with a controller. Highly recommended though if you like space invaders.. First time owning a space invaders game and I'm impressed by it. The visuals pretty good, can be turned off if you want which is good. The music is great on later stages. I like the uniqueness of the shots you make somehow blend w/ the music. I have read that some tracks got replaced by new ones is unfortunate. Hopefully Taito will patch that to give ppl options which tracks to choose from. What bothers me a bit on this game. The lack of features in options that is really bare and I don't know why. The other unfortunate thing is that it's online only. That's a problem know that it''s unplayable if someone doesn't have internet. Lack of button options may turn ppl off, but not much of a deal to me, feels fine to me since it really doesn't offer much. As for the leaderboards, it's not bad, yet I don't see myself being the expert of being the top 10. Overall it's a fun budget game that ppl should buy. $20 is pretty much a steal for what it can offer. Hopefully that Taito will release the sequel unto Steam. Reminder, only get it if you have online. If you don't have any internet connection, do not buy it.. Very good port from the PSP, and other related systems this game was on in the previous gen, but would be perfect if it could be played offline. Think twice before buying if you do not like online-only video-games.. I loved the original Space Invaders Extreme when it released on the DS. This version does improve the sound and graphics but they changed some of how it plays and also made changes to some of the levels. Still, this is a very fun game. If you have not played it before, I really suggest that you give it a shot. The combination of the gameplay and the integrated music is addicting. A geat innovation on the old classic Space Invaders game play. It is one of the best games Taito released last decade. The only issue that I really have is that it is now always online, unlike the original portable game. Why? It also does not have the multiplayer mode. Seems weird to add an online requirement but then remove multiplayer. Note: I got the game on sale, not at full price.
