SHOULD YOU VISIT YOUR DESTINATION WEDDING VENUE?

It’s perfectly possible to book a wedding abroad, without ever visiting the venue. You might never have even been to the country before, instead choosing based on pictures online or in brochures and booking based on what you have seen and read. You don’t even have to visit after booking. Emails and the internet mean that you could arrange a wedding that is going to be in a different country from the comfort of your own home. But, that doesn’t mean that you should.

The answer to the question, “Should you visit your destination wedding venue?” is almost always a bit fat yes. Yes, you could do it all without a visit. Yes, this would be cheaper and faster. But, no, you shouldn’t do it. You should visit your wedding venue, or at least the area before you even think about booking. Then, if possible, you should visit again while you are planning and making arrangements. Let’s take a look at some of the reasons why. Paris Wedding Venues

To Get a Feel for It

Some places are special. They mean something to us. They’re magical, and they fill us with joy. Sometimes, these are places that we’ve been many times before and are filled with happy memories and positive associations. But, not always. Sometimes the first time we see a place, we know that it’s special. It makes us happy. Other sites don’t feel right. They make us anxious and unhappy. You want to get married somewhere that feels special, and you’ll only know this if you visit.

To Meet with Professionals You Want to Hire

Your wedding isn’t all about the venue. You’ll want to meet with a photographer like Andrea Matone, with the registrar carrying out the ceremony, with the caterer and with anyone else that you are thinking about hiring for your big day. If you were getting married in this country, you’d spend time interviewing professionals to find the right person. You might not have time for interviews abroad, but meeting with people gives you a much better way to talk about what you want than swapping emails.

To Negotiate

Negotiations are also much easier face to face. Book online, and you’ll almost always pay the advertised prices. Speak to someone face to face, explain your exact needs, and you might be able to find a better deal and save money, or at least get more for your money.

To Check Out the Hotel

You might be staying in the hotel where you are having the wedding. But many weddings abroad happen in alternative locations. Do you want to spend your wedding night somewhere you’ve never seen? Do you want to get ready for the wedding in a room that’s brand new? Do you want to pack, not quite knowing what will be supplied by the hotel? Spend some time there first, and all of your questions will be answered. Wedding Planner Leeds

To Get to Grips with Your Itinerary

Weddings can be complicated affairs. You might have to travel to hairdressers or makeup artists. You might have a trip to the venue and then another to the reception. You won’t know how long all this will take, or even if it’s possible unless you make the trip and try it out.
