There are, obviously, different times when I talk about mathematics as beautiful. I'd like to take you back to your schooldays and let's speak about Algebra. I understand everything you are thinking as you read that - Algebra was generally "double dutch" to many of you. Am I perhaps not correct? Sure, I understand I am.

Image your self back in a college maths classroom. You've been performing algebra for several weeks. It has been a time of frustration. Your teacher produces on the chalkboard what looks for you to be always a complex algebraic term, e.g.

Then asks one to simplify the expression. Inwardly you scream, "Help! I can not do that." Dutifully you write the phrase on your pad. You check it to make sure it is correct.
