Many people all over the world think of Japan as a peaceful and safe place to live. But it is important to remember that there are a few places where crime rates are higher than average.

不動産 練馬区

Nerima City is known for its open parks and residential vibe, complemented by suburbian temples and shrines.
Setagaya Ward

Nerima’s residential feel and affordable livability make it a popular choice for families, who prefer a quiet life away from the glitz of Tokyo’s downtown centers. The ward also boasts good access to the RIKEN Brain Institute, which makes it a great option for researchers and their families looking for a place to call home.

The borough’s quaint shopping district of Shimokitazawa is an epicenter for vintage fashion, artsy culture, and bohemian flair. Here you can explore local boutiques and unique thrift shops, while sipping on a cup of matcha in one of the area’s many cafes.

Ikebukuro, a large terminal station, sits in the heart of Setagaya Ward along with several other commuter hubs and upscale residential neighborhoods. It’s a busy district, but not as dangerous as some may believe. Crime rates are actually quite low for the area, and most residents live in a safe and secure neighborhood. It is not uncommon to find an older 2-LDK Mansion (the western equivalent of an apartment or flat) within walking distance of a train station in Ikebukuro for about Y=300,000 per month.
Shinagawa Ward

The quiet residential nature of Nerima Ward is one of its main attractions. A quick train ride from Ikebukuro and the rest of the city-in-a-city in northwest Tokyo, this ward is a popular option for families looking for a suburban feel to their home base.

The highlight is Togoshi Park, a huge, beautiful space with a pond, waterfall, bridges, an artificial mountain and some magnificent entrance gates. Walking here feels like you are miles away from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo.

Also nearby is Kanda Shrine, a famous Shinto shrine where locals come to pray for prosperity, good relationships and luck in love. It's also in the heart of otaku culture, with lots of stores and displays celebrating anime, manga and video games.

Other notable features include Heisei Tsutsuji Park, a massive azalea garden with over 600 different varieties of this popular flower that bloom at slightly different times. And Tennoji Temple, which combines serenity and beauty with the weight of history in its imposing edifice. It sits among a cemetery and wooded areas that evoke the very archetype of Buddhist tranquility.
Itabashi Ward

A residential area with an inherently safe feel, Itabashi Ward is characterized by quiet neighborhoods and lush parks. Originally cultivated as farmland, the area is bursting with nature, offering residents a respite from Tokyo’s busy cityscape.

Several large parks are located within Itabashi Ward, including Hikarigaoka Park, an expansive lawn that’s perfect for picnicking, and Shakujii Park, which is surrounded by sawtooth oaks and konara oaks, and is home to two ponds with water lilies and iris flowers. Itabashi is also known for its anime heritage, with the Oizumi Anime Gate featuring life-size statues of characters with a connection to the neighborhood (such as Astro from “Astro Boy,” Joe Yabuki from “Ashita no Joe,” and Maetel and Tetsuro Hoshino from “Galaxy Express 999”) creating a fun atmosphere that’s unique to the area.

Itabashi Ward’s low crime rate makes it a great place for families. The neighborhood is a short commute from Central Tokyo and offers affordable rentals.
Ota Ward

Ota Ward is the largest of Tokyo’s 23 wards, with neighborhoods tailored to different needs. From the high-society neighborhood of Denenchofu with its name recognition and radial road mansions to the seriously exclusive area of Sanno to Magome’s traditional charm, commuter-friendly Kamata, and more, you’ll find a wide range of living styles here.

With a lower crime rate than most of Tokyo’s other areas, Ota is known as a family-friendly and affordable ward. It also has many parks and shopping centers and is gaining popularity for its rejuvenated public spaces and community initiatives. It’s also home to Haneda Airport and offers an opportunity for those who want to enjoy the best of Tokyo city life with a more relaxed, suburban townscape and low rent. The area has an abundance of farmland and is dotted with beautiful shrines, temples, and gardens. You’ll also see traditional culture everywhere from the annual Jindai procession at Ikegami Honmonji temple to Kamata’s kuroyu (black hot spring) and feathered dumplings. Unlike some other neighborhoods, Ota residents don’t display a sense of brand consciousness and seem to be more interested in a simple lifestyle.
Adachi Ward

Despite its relatively low crime rate of 0.45%, the residents of Adachi Ward have a strong sense of community. With a focus on local initiatives, Adachi has been revitalizing its cityscape with new shops and parks. It’s also home to Tokyo Future University and a popular pachinko parlor on Kannana-dori Avenue.

A highlight of the area is Heisei Azalea Park, which features more than 600 varieties of azalea. The azaleas bloom throughout the spring, but are especially beautiful from late March through May. Visitors can also explore a variety of temples and shrines, such as the Entenji Temple. This temple was visited by a famous haiku poet, Kobayashi Issa, who wrote verses about the surroundings.

Shikahama Station is the main entrance to the west of the ward and is located in front of one of the largest metropolitan housing complexes in the area, Kaminumada Danchi. The station also serves as a hub for those looking to visit the nearby senjujuku Inn town, which offers an escape from the busy city center. There are also many Korean restaurants and a pachinko parlor in the vicinity.
