Savage New Canaan The Countries That Produced the Top Muscle Cars

Auto enthusiasts around the world can attest to the fact that muscle cars are an important part of motor vehicle history, specifically as it relates to speed driving. American muscle is essentially an American-made automobile that has a lot of power and offers really good acceleration capabilities. In 1964, the phrase "muscle car" was coined as a result of the introduction of mid-sized Pontiacs that came equipped with a new feature offering high-performance V8 engines. At the time, a fully equipped Pontiac GTO could run 0 to 60 mph in less than seven seconds. At that time, that was an awesome feat for any motor vehicle.

As the years went by, other motor vehicle manufacturers jumped in on this car craze, and names like Buick, Chevy, Dodge, Ford and Plymouth all released their version of these power race car. It became a significant trend at that time, and soon many motor vehicle enthusiasts were driving this powerful, yet affordable motor car.

The ones that stood out specifically from Australia were the 1971 LC GTR Torana as well as the XP Falcon Deluxe. South Africa brought to the table the Fairmont GT as well as the Chev SS, while the United Kingdom brought to the market the Z28 RS Camaro in 1968. The designs were very impressive, but they never stood out as signature muscle cars because they were not manufactured in the United States where the first of these powerful cars were made.

Although there were several other countries that put their spin on muscle cars and manufactured their own models, these countries were the three notable ones that brought comparable models to the American ones previously made. There were also individuals from other countries who used the standards set by muscle cars to build their own, and came out with pretty impressive rides, although they never made them into the main stream.

Over time, muscle cars were designed with upgraded features an increased power to make them more impressive. And today, they still remain some of the most impressive automobiles in history. Just be prepared to pay a lot of money for them if you ever feel the need to own one!
