Samsung Galaxy Fold Phones Are Broken Screens To Be Launch Delayed

Samsung’s early commentators said that after a few days of broken screens on their devices, Samsung delayed the release of its folding smartphone.

The company said it has postponed the launch of Galaxy Fold to "fully evaluate feedback and conduct further internal testing."

In April, several early critics found that the display on the Galaxy Fold broke down in a few days.

Samsung has not disclosed when the £1800 device will go on sale.

The new release date will be announced in the “Future Weeks”.

In a statement, Samsung said it suspected that some of the critics suffered damage caused by "the impact on the top and bottom exposed areas of the hinge."

It also stated that one of the evaluation devices found a "substance" that could affect its performance.

The press conference held in Hong Kong and Shanghai this week was also postponed.

Galaxy Fold will be released in the UK on May 3.

The Korean technology giant has said it is investigating what went wrong with the damage review unit.

In some cases, the reviewer stripped off a layer of screen coating and mistaken it for a disposable screen protector.

"We will also strengthen our guidance on the maintenance and use of displays including protective layers," Samsung said in a statement.

Chinese competitors are also developing collapsible smartphones, but neither company has announced the release date.

Mobile phones with a price of £1,800 (US$1,980) have never been purchased by the masses.

But the launch of Galaxy Fold is designed to showcase Samsung as an innovative and forward-looking gadget maker and attract people into its stores.

Now it has become a bit embarrassing, evoking another badly-emitting memory: the "explosive" Galaxy Note 7 smartphone.

Samsung has been competing for Chinese competitors Huawei to launch a competition for folding equipment. Huawei has announced the launch of mobile phones, but has not yet brought critics home.

The two manufacturers said that according to laboratory tests, their folding screens can be opened and closed more than 100,000 times without breaking.

But in the real world, critics destroyed Samsung's equipment in less than 48 hours.

Maybe Galaxy Fold takes longer in the test.
