RUSSIAN SHAWLS - SYMBOL OF RUSSIA

 

Initially of the 19th century, it became fashionable to wear woolen shawls in Russia. The first shawls were stated in the small town Pavlovsky Posad in the Moscow Oblast in the midst of the 19th century russiangarb. The basic tone of the woolen shawls is normally black as the composition of the motives is an assortment of large and small floral ornaments. Mostly roses will be the motives on the scarfs. The shawls were often worn with traditional Russian folk costumes.
