Making sure you have proper redirects done right for your site is very very important. Just like you do when your own website brings back a 404 page or anytime you remove a page from a website you want to make sure to redirect that page somewhere most likely back ot the homepage of the site but sometimes to another sub page.. The same is true for sites that link to you via redirects , you will want to make sure they link back to you correctly to be seen right.
