QuickBooks Multi User Mode Not Working

Solution 1: Test network connectivity

Turn hosting off on all workstations
Ping the server name from your own workstation

Solution 2: Utilize The Network Diagnostic Tool

Download and install the tool.
Scan the folder in which the data file is placed.

Test for data file connectivity

Solution 3: Add your server to Windows Host file

Open the windows hosts file on the pc wherein the error is appearing. ? (C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\Etc) using Notepad. ? Open Notepad as Admin, if required.
Place the insertion point after the last IP address and type the server’s IP address.
Press the TAB key once, and type the server name.
Through the File menu, choose Save. Then, press Exit.
Try opening the company file.

Solution 4: Create a new folder for your company file

On the quickbooks hosting computer create a new folder.
Share the folder and put up folder and Windows access permissions to talk about company files
Copy the QuickBooks Database (QBW) file to the new folder
Open your company file in multi-user mode again Solution 5: Set hosting to local files
Launch QuickBooks and press F2 to open up the item Information screen
Into the lower left, below Local Server Information, select Hosting to reflect ‘local files only’
Make certain that no other client system is trying to host exactly the same company file
