Putrefaction 2: Void Walker is a sequel to FPS Putrfaction, released in 2015, offering much more improved and fast-paced gameplay and more lighter action-adventure tone.


After destroying ancient evil in the first game, you were transported to another galaxy and became Void Walker - a warrior, who travels to a different worlds and times in search of the ultimate enemy. Now you must work for mysterious being, searching for clues and blasting through enemy hordes to find the answers.

This cheap indie game uses simple but sufficient graphics. It lacks common fps options like sprint, reload, duck and scoped alternative fire. The game starts pretty good with smooth and satisfying combat. After the first levels the bad things kick in with platform sections, bullet sponge enemies and difficult tedious boss fights. The game play becomes a chore and no fun at all. I gave up at the ridiculous difficult end boss. Pity since the beginning was quite promising.

4\/10. It's very cheap so you can take a swing at it.. Love this game and will have a hard time waiting for new levels. Yes, it is a somewhat simplistic FPS, but that is part of its charm. If you want to shoot stuff, then this game is great and I think with new levels and new weapons, (sniper rifle...hint, hint), it is well worth your time and money.. A good, mindless FPS that I heartily recommend. It's in the style of Serious Sam/Painkiller with a bit of Doom mixed in.
Takes about 4-5 hours gameplay on hard (there are 4 difficulty levels - easy, medium, hard and extreme). That difficulty is very well balanced - not too difficult but definitely enough challenge so you get that feeling of catharsis upon victory. I had the toughest time on a couple of bosses which is what you want. The enemy waves were by and large not too overwhelming, and you aren't forced to fight in tiny enclosed spaces too often so keeping nimble on your feet and playing cautiously will see you through most fights. And you can increase a stat that makes fallen enemies drop more health and ammo which helps as you aren't overloaded with ammo in general, which is a nice change. The one issue I would level at the game is it wasn't very clear when you had "leveled up" and gained a new stat point, so just be sure to periodically check as when you allocate them those bonuses come in very handy, particularly the extra speed and health and the aforementioned increased drop rate.
As for the weapons, most of them were fairly fun to use, although there isn't a huge selection. But the game also lets you customise the weapons with your own choice of secondary attack which is a very nice addition. Plus the relatively low number of weapons means you are more likely to swap them out more often and every weapon has a use in one situation or another, no matter how far you progress in the game.
Story is suitably inane, and the dialogue is predictably cheese, but this isn't what you play these games for! Though the story does give a good excuse to bring variety to the worlds you visit. Another world or two wouldn't have gone amiss!
Enemies are also varied quite a bit throughout, and the game does a good job of mixing the level design up so some of their strengths get emphasised and other times you can exploit the terrain and rain death upon melee only enemies.
So, all in all a good game, I'm looking forward to trying the standalone expansion.. This is more of a netural review than a negative one. From what I got from others, this is suppose to be a Serious Sam Clone. So because I love Serious Sam, I decided to buy this cheap unity game that seemed like it would kill a few hours. The game has an okay presentation and some neat guns, but overall the negatives outweigh the positives.

This is definitely not a Serious Sam Clone. But if you don't have enough to get Serious Sam, then I highly warn you about trying this game, it's also very buggy but nothing game breaking just graphical issues and stuff. Not the best option, only buy if you have nothing else to play like me.. I read a review saying the game was basically a DOOM 2016 remake made by one person who actually succeeded. I agree. The comedy reminded me a little to Postal 2.. Didn't like Jim Sterling destroy this game before?
