Absorbing the loss to the Jets was Sergei Bobrovsky, who allowed four goals on 25 shot attempts to fall to 27-22 with a 2.85 GAA on the year, while out on the road he has gone 14-9 with a 2.80 GAA. In his career, he has gone 15-6 with a 2.20 GAA against the Devils. The Blue Jackets have gone 19-11 on the road and they have averaged 3.20 gpg and have allowed 2.83 gpg in those games. Winnipeg enters this game ranked 27th in the league in power play conversions at 15.7% and 3rd in penalty kill at 84.0%.

Last year, the New Jersey Devils(championship sports rings) snapped a five-year playoff drought. It looks as if they will go back to missing the playoffs this year. They are currently in 14th place in the Eastern Conference and 19 points out of the 8th spot. The Devils have lost four of their last five games and the offense has been an issue as they have scored a total of eight goals in those games, after scoring a total of 16 goals over their previous four games. In their last game, the New Jersey offense was a complete now show in a 1-0 loss to the Bruins. Boston scored their goal just 2:37 in the game. After that, it was all solid goaltending for both teams.

Suffering the hard-luck loss against the Bruins was MacKenzie Blackwood, who stopped 29 of the 30 shots that he faced to fall to 6-6 with a 2.25 GAA in this his first year in the league. He is 0-1 with a 1.38 GAA in two meetings with Columbus. We may see Cory Schneider in this one and he has gone 4-11 with a 3.38 GAA on the year, including 3-3 with a 2.46 GAA here at home. In his career, he has gone 11-11 with a 2.33 GAA against the Blue Jackets. New Jersey has gone 17-17 here at home for the year and they have averaged 3.06 gpg and have allowed 2.79 gpg in those games. The Devils check in ranked 19th in power play conversions at 18.0% and 4th in penalty kill at 83.3%.
