A special shoe that was thought to be a Memphis Tigers’ player exclusive is set to release to the public. Upon arrival of pictures of the college basketball team wearing the shoe, many sneaker enthusiasts feared the shoe would be impossible to get. An athletes bond with the college they played for is as strong as they come. Penny Hardaway, now head coach for the Memphis Tigers, played for the team in the early 90’s. Through two college seasons with the team, he made his mark on the school as well as the city. The team later acknowledged his influence by retiring his number 25. After a magnificent 15 year NBA career, Penny retired from playing professionally and looked to continue his impact on the game of basketball by finding a coaching job. Nike brings us the Air Foamposite One “Memphis Tigers” in honor of Penny Hardaway’s return to his Alma mater. The shoe takes on the normal Foamposite silhouette but is splashed with The University of Memphis school spirit. The entire upper of the shoe is covered in blue as well as black tiger stripes. All while being accompanied by a black rubber outsole, white laces, and a white Nike swoosh on the lateral side of the toe. Overall the shoe looks amazing and contains a great story that all basketball and sneaker fans will love.

The shoe is said to be releasing in limited quantities later this week on March 22nd, 2019. Do not hesitate to pickup the shoe, as the demand for it is expected to be extremely high.
