Philadelphia 76ers vs Washington Wizards - 1/8/19 NBA Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Washington Wizards and the Philadelphia 76ers(Philadelphia 76ers championship rings) do battle at the Wells Fargo Center on Tuesday night.

The Washington Wizards have endured a rough start to the season, but they’ve won three of their last four games and they will be looking to build on Sunday’s 116-98 road win over the surging Thunder. Bradley Beal led the team with 25 points and six assists on 10 of 27 shooting, Otto Porter Jr. added 20 points with five assists off the bench, Jeff Green added 16 points while Tomas Satoransky chipped in with 15 points. As a team, the Wizards shot 43 percent from the field and 10 of 37 from the 3-point line which doesn’t sound impressive, but they were dominant after halftime as they outscored the Thunder by 62-48 in the second half to run away with it late. With the win, Washington improved to 16-24 overall and 5-17 on the road.

Meanwhile, the Philadelphia 76ers have been in great form as they’ve won six of their last eight games and they will be aiming for a third straight victory after sneaking past the Mavericks in a 106-100 home win on Saturday. Joel Embiid led the team with 25 points, 12 rebounds and five assists, Ben Simmons racked up a triple-double of 20 points with 14 rebounds and 11 assists while JJ Redick chipped in with 20 points on eight of 14 shooting. As a team, the 76ers shot 46 percent from the field and just six of 26 from the 3-point line but they were still dominant for most of the game, as they led by as many as 19 points before the Mavericks made a run in the fourth quarter to keep the final scores respectable. With the win, Philadelphia(custom nba championship rings) improved to 26-14 overall and 17-3 at home.

Looking at the betting trends, the Wizards are 17-35 ATS in their last 52 road games, 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games against a team above .600 and 4-0 ATS in their last four games overall. The 76ers are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a losing record and 24-9 ATS in their last 33 home games against a team with a losing road record.

Head to head, the over is 4-1 in the last five meetings in Philadelphia, the Wizards are 3-7 ATS in the last 10 meetings overall and 1-5 ATS in the last six meetings in Philadelphia.

The Wizards have found a bit of form with three wins in their last four games and they looked great, especially in the second half in their win over the red-hot Thunder on Sunday. However, the 76ers have been in great form themselves and they’ve already beaten the Wizards by 123-98 in the team’s lone meeting back on Nov 30. The 76ers are also 17-3 at home this season and 5-1 ATS in the last six home meetings against the Wizards so I’m taking the 76ers to get the win and cover against the shorthanded Wizards(championship sports rings) here.
