'Parasceve', the film that will take Holy Week in Seville throughout Europe

Under the direction of the Sevillian Hilario Abad, it has a soundtrack composed by Torres Simón and recorded by the Municipal Band of Seville

Not a film to the use of Week St. , not different. The celebration told with a cinematographic code. That's 'Paraceve' and thus defines its director, Hilario Abad , a Sevillian woman looking to take her to screens large f summerEuropeans .

Without dialogues or interviews, this film was born in the Faculty of Communication in Seville, the place where its great premiere took place this Wednesday and from which its director came out ten years ago. "There I learned about this from a fundamental teacher: Carlos Colón ." For this reason he recognizes that the film "has many current parallels with the great 'Holy Week in Seville' of 1992"

' Parasceve ' is a feature film about Holy Week in Seville that tells the course of the celebration in chronological order, with a focus on what the public experiences, transmitting the different environments and sensations that are experienced in the street, with the objective of making an evocative portrait of the celebration, almost impressionistic, avoiding rationalizing the intangible. Filmed beautifully over the last decade (2012-2021), each Lent and Easter, the maxim has been to seek the public's perspective. Those attending the event were able to see the trailer and exclusive sequences of a film that tells of Easter as it has never been done.

As its director pointed out, in this film recorded during the last ten celebrations, “the camera emulates the angle of vision of a person who lives Holy Week in Seville, and mixes with the people. The sound treatment tries to isolate the details and enhance them , separating them from the ambient noise to reinforce the image. For this reason, "neither voice-over narration nor dialogue have a place in this piece, which is based solely on image, music and sound," says Abad.

The film is accompanied by an original soundtrack composed and produced by Francisco Javier Torres Simón and brought to life by the Municipal Symphonic Band of Seville, directed by Francisco Javier Gutiérrez Juan , choir and solo instruments such as the organ of the Basilica del Gran Poder and the cornet, creating a universe of its own and filled with a vision that mixes the cinematographic with our Andalusian culture.

The aim is " to value the band musician and create, with a typical formation of our Holy Week, a very cinematographic music . " Abad commented. The film is directed by Hilario Abad, director of among other productions the film 'Llega la Noche', premiered at SEFF 2020 with 2 nominations for the ASECAN awards, the multi-award-winning web series 'Caniville', and the television documentary 'Pasión y Pasión' , about the music of Holy Week, produced by 'La Zanfoña' for 'Canal Sur'.

Currently, he is also the main editor of the Womack Studios series 'It's Flamenco' that is broadcast every Friday on 'Canal Sur'. Parasceve will begin its festival run after Easter this year, hitting theaters in the fall of 2021.
