Pangeanic is a synonym of quality

Quality is always a must in Pangeanic´s work. Its quality is a big a differentiator grounded on numerous stages in the process, and in-built examination measures.

The company applies toughest and enormously cautious quality control and guarantee measures in each single phase of its daily work. Quality is both a differentiator and one of the most important values of the company.

Pangeanic has been independently audited for almost 15 years without stop and has renewed its certifications since 2005. Some members of its team are vastly experienced in quality assurance as they worked in the field in Britain in the 90’s, as well as for the Ford Motor Company and Rolls Royce
Industrial and Marine.

All its team members, both internal and external, are loyal to the Pangeanic Quality Principle since their very first day. This also applies to Pangeanic´s technology-related services as well as the human relationship with external personnel and clients.

The company is always open to receive customers’ recommendations for perfection, as they are vital for better product and service development, within its constant improvement culture.

Developing a brand means having a consistent communication, and to accomplish consistency any brand needs quality assurance in its translation processes. This is the way in which Pangeanic has built its reputation and developed its business globally. Quality Assurance is in every task performed at Pangeanic.

It is far beyond having a certification paper on the wall. The principles are constantly applied in every project and throughout the company departments.

Pangeanic is audited by EQA. Additionally, it is certified by the ISO 9001:2015, ISO 17100:2015 (Translation Standard) and the ISO 13485:2016 (Translation Standards for the medical-healthcare sector) standards.

The quality translation processes apply to every project, regardless its size. The quality assurance process includes an initial document analysis, a recommendation for the best translation level for the project, proofreading by a second (and sometimes a third or more) linguistic, format adaptation and a translation memory for the project. All these within the delivery deadline.

Additionally, a Project Manager will work directly with the client since the very first day. Therefore, he or she will fully understand the client´s operations, style in the original language and any specific instructions.

Also, the company receives, stores, manages and makes available each translation project securely through its in-house dedicated servers. Because of the experience of its internal checkers and proofreaders, it will get feedback on its work and its translators using translation quality metrics designed in its translation management system.

Their clients also have access to the Translation Management System, where they could get full traceability and transparency from the company.

All these will always be given with the best rates as they´ve have negotiated good salaries with translation globally.
Pangeanic is committed to evaluate its performance with its clients on a regular basis, meeting every three months or providing regular reports on performance, punctuality and translation memory savings, among others.
J2450 Translation Quality Metric

This standard was made with the goal of having a reliable standard to measure the quality of automotive service information, no matter what the source language is and no matter how the translation is made (human or machine translation).

The technique is grounded on a points-based method. The fewer points a translation has, the upper the quality of it. Mistakes are separated in 7 categories and each one is carefully bounded: wrong term, omission, wrong meaning, structural error, punctuation error, misspelling and miscellaneous error.

After that, each category is weighted. Some mistake categories are supposed to alter the final quality more than others. For example, a punctuation error might score less points than mistakes in the wrong meaning category.

Once a mistake is classified into a category, the human reviewer chooses if the mistake is serious or not. A serious mistake has more points than a minor one.

The system is both simple to follow and implement. It is a brilliant stage towards developing an impartial linguistic quality measurement.

Additionally, it is extremely customizable: if a linguistic feels that in a particular text a punctuation mistake can be more harmful to a translated version than a misspelling, he or she can simply alter the weighting.

The metric results are useful for benchmarking linguistic standards and to be used as a basis for debate with both clients or translation groups.

This metric is issued by SAE and explicitly for the automotive service information industry.

Therefore, it might not be the most appropriate technique for evaluating translation where linguistic style and/or voice are of supreme importance.

Help is desirable for reviewers using the system. What a serious or a minor mistake means must be very clear. Evaluators must be trained to guarantee common and clear understanding.
The J2450 Translation Quality Metric can be bought on the SAE internet site.
