Online video storage is unpredictable. Websites can shut down or disappear. Here's how to backup your social media videos to your personal computer.

My story isn't an epic one. I was born, attended school, worked, and to finally achieve something online.. There are also some difficult times when I believed that all was done. One of those moments was when my home computer was unable to function... After some tweaking, installing new desktops and shifting the drive from one drive to the other, I was finally able to restore all the files that was stored on the drive. It took me three days of sweating and metaphorical tears... However, I did learn one fact: Dropbox and personal FTP servers can be used to backup my daily tasks automatically and manually.

But it's not the best option. The more data you store in your online storage, the more you have to spend to protect it. It's very simple and seems secure. It can be downloaded anywhere that the internet permits. But what happens when the internet isn't available? I always keep my laptop close at hand during these instances. It is my last line of defense against the most difficult situations. There are two drives I own, and use as RAID stacks. They both copy each other and keep one copy in the event that one of my HDDs is damaged. I only copy stuff there to ensure that my laptop won't fail.

Another day of immense grief occurred a few weeks ago. I take care not to lose my work, and as I stated above, now I duplicate it many times and can access it wherever internet is available. It was Periscope. I used it a lot in the past and this past summer during the riots, I did a few live streams.. All of suddenly Periscope TV is closing, and all the videos will be gone in a couple of weeks. What do I do? The entire video must be downloaded to my laptop in order to save them offline. These videos are extremely significant to me. I was with my friend when he disappeared off the radar of Covid. It's like it was just a matter of time.

his site I frequent and it allows me to download videos from Youtube, Instagram and Facebook among other websites that have the bulk of my live streams. I am a passionate supporter of politics and underground movements. Therefore, I film many live events to save them, then upload some on my Youtube channel, then save them to my laptop every time it ends. This is how I do it. https://www.qdownloader.org It also allows me to cross-post videos to multiple platforms. This means I can not only share Youtube video via Facebook but also upload that same video on Facebook. And it is a different video. In actuality I am able to store more than 3TB live feeds from the last 8 years. Periscope Lives won't go away.. It's helped me greatly.

It's flawless. It is possible to open the video you'd like to download via Periscope, Youtube, or Facebook. Copy its URL using the share link. I then navigate to the video-downloader site, paste the video link there, and within a few seconds I'll see a variety of options for downloading video. I can download it to my desktop or laptop, transfer it to other platforms, and save it for my family and friends ones. Not every site can help with Periscope however this one does well, it can manage m3u8 files that other sites usually download on your behalf.. qdownloader They work however, and I'm not saying that they aren't however, they're actually using fragments of online video feeds and playing the video in VLC although it's great isn't really achieving the goal as the video isn't in your system, it's still online and playing from the Internet, when player loads small fragments of video 1 by 1...

If you were unaware that you could make windows copy commands that allow you to combine these fragments and make a normal 1 long video file. It is caused by the format for video Mpeg TS (or transport stream) that is used to create the video fragments. It includes all the data required for decoding video in each of the fragments, making them independent from the stream, to allow each newcomer begin streaming without delay. It also keeps data off the browser since it downloads 360x10 seconds files instead of the 1hr files. That means that when you only watch 25 seconds of the stream, it will download only 4-6 fragments. (It gets 3-4 fragments of the current 25 second stretch plus 1 or 2 additional fragments should you keep watching the stream). youtube to mp3 converter This reduces the total download time to only 25 seconds after the start of the stream.
