After almost a year-long postponement of the Tokyo Olympics, the games are set to begin on July 23. The COVID-19 outbreak led to the delay of these majestic games. It was the first time in history that the games were rescheduled or postponed. Despite a year-long delay in the games, Olympics retains the ‘2020’ title. 

The sudden outbreak 

The recent outbreak in Japan has shooked the nation leading to new rules and regulations. Emergency has been declared by the government of Japan, but this should not worry the fans of the Olympics as the games will take place as per the schedule. However, no fans will be permitted inside the stadiums. 

The opening ceremony is scheduled for 23rd July. Friday evening in Tokyo will kick off a series for 16 majestic days. Approximately 5,000 medals planned to distribute at the Olympics are made from recycled electronic products donated by the citizens of Japan.
