What Is Pampas Grass?

Pampas grass is one kind of dried grass. It is known for its white feathery flowers, which serve as its most eye-capturing feature. Its tall, green leaves look elegant, beautifully swaying even in the slightest breeze. This tall grass species can grow really fast, from five to fifteen feet high.

Dried Flower Wreath:

I'm making a dried flower wreath today wreaths are a beautiful way to usher in a new season you might ask why would I use dried flowers when you can have fresh flowers look at what happens to a rose when it's dried it's got so much character and I love working with dried flowers because they last forever really the only thing that's gonna make it disintegrate is thyme and dust we're gonna work with all of this beautiful product here I have dried roses I have loon area I have grasses I have all the things to make this incredible let's get started I'm using grapevine for the base of this wreath you can find these pre-made or you can make it yourself if you have grapevine around your property which I do I'm lucky I'm gonna start with this beautiful kind of branchy stem makes me feel very witchy like Glinda the Good Witch or the Wicked Witch of the West I love anything that kind of looks like it's out of Sleepy Hollow basically I'm holding the item onto the wreath and seeing where I want it to live so when it's on the table kind of deciding if I want it to be out further or tucked in more and I think I want it to live right there and then quite simply I'm stuffing it into place and so I'm just gonna continue to build onto the base with these lovely branches all want to be on the wreath next I'm using this beautiful moss that I'm going to tuck in you can get away with tucking in a lot of these dried pampas grass elements right into the grapevine where you can't tuck something in this is where your paddle wire is gonna be your new best friend so I'm gonna wire on some of the moss I'll be able to hide this wire with a lot of the dried elements.

So don't worry about the mechanics of it just yet next I'm using the Flint area it's just got a beautiful iridescent to it that just catches the light like an opal and it always looks good and dried leeks so pretty on that linaria pod there was a little seed that I could put in my garden so I will save that for later something also to think about when you're creating your wreath is do you want it to be asymmetrical is it symmetrical as I'm going I realize I'm doing things symmetrically and I'm like I don't I don't want to do that so I'm changing it up and changing where this goes that's the beauty of it it's an improvisation know to read this will ever be the same in any workshop I've ever taught we can all have the same product and every one is completely unique that's my favorite part about teaching look at that beautiful dried rose there's something that happens to a rose when it dies and then it dries and it's sort of the color turns this antiquey beautiful shade I don't have words there are no words that is just so beautiful it'll last so so long if you have a garden and you have flowers in your garden you can dry your own flowers just a quick kind of flower 101 flower drying 101 usually you dry the same flower together different pampas grass have a different moisture content some take longer to dry than others so you usually bundle them in the same grouping so you'll bundle all of your roses together you'll bundle your straw flower together straw flower in particular is the most ideal pampas grass to dry because it almost has the texture of a dried flower right on the stem. Buy beautiful pampas grass artificial from Magic Decor.

It won't flop and it's beautiful ideally you have a place in your house or a shed where you can dry your flowers that isn't too humid because humidity obviously is counter productive when you're drying flowers in addition to having a nice dry room for drying your flowers dark is really good so if you could have a dark dry room the sunlight will essentially bleach out a lot of the color so you want to preserve the color of your beautiful flowers citing where I want it to live the next dried bit I'm going to incorporate is this amaranthus and this also can be grown in the garden and it makes for beautiful dried flower now like it no like aloe I think we're close to being done but I see a couple other things that I'd like to incorporate like this little celosia it's just a little bit brighter in those pink tones and it'll just be a cute little addition on this side I think I'm done I I like the idea of the Halfmoon reefs because I like seeing the grapevine exposed I could go all the way around and sometimes I do but for me this one is sweet and simple and I feel like it's done but actually it's never really done in my mind without some stellar ribbon I have this beautiful hand dyed linen in the perfect blush tone the idea is like a big messy uncontrived bow cut off some of these stragglers cute seasonal dried flower each so make a great gift they last forever the best way to preserve it put it away bring it back out after a few months if it gets dusty blow it off with your hairdryer on a cool setting and you have a dry flower wreath for years and years I'm in love okay so this is a super easy and fun project that you can totally do I have the utmost confidence so my work here is done I'm gonna make five more because I'm obsessed and you're all getting one for your birthday.
