The Divisional Round of the 2019 NFL Playoffs will begin on Saturday when the Kansas City Chiefs host the Indianapolis Colts. The Chiefs had Wild Card weekend off after earning the top seed in the AFC—their first No. 1 finish since 1995—after a strong 12-4 campaign, while the No. 6 Colts were the last team in thanks to their victory over the Tennessee Titans in the Week 17 finale. Indianapolis became just the third team since the merger to start 1-5 and still quality for the postseason thanks to a 9-1 finish to their season. The squad continued its momentum in the playoffs with a thorough rout of the AFC South rival Houston Texans.
The Chiefs have been installed as a 5.5-point favorites in the Divisional opener, which should come as no surprise given how dominant Kansas City has been at Arrowhead in 2018. The club went 7-1 this year at its home digs and now gets to host a team that was just .500 in regular season road games. Indianapolis did pick up a road win in the Wild Card, but was fortunate to match up with a Houston team that can’t seem to find a way to beat the Colts at NRG Stadium. Indianapolis has now gone 6-1 over its last seven at that venue, including the convincing win this past Saturday.
